Personal Care for Those Far from Home
Studying away from home can be hard for students and parents.  One of our greatest goals as a school is to provide unique and personal support for each and every student to help them in this process.  Learn more about our Care Groups and how they help our students adjust and grow!

A School in the Heart of Organic Farming Country… Is it for You?
Located in rural Viroqua, Wisconsin (pop. ~4500) and surrounded by the rolling hills and valleys of the Driftless Region, Youth Initiative offers a curriculum that reflects the unique opportunities of this place. We currently have boarding students and are accepting applications for the current year.

Boarding HOUSE

Youth Initiative is excited to announce our new boarding house (pictured to the right)!

A House and Home for Many

Our new boarding house boasts eight bedrooms and five bathrooms — enough room to host up to twelve boarding students! With a big yard in a safe and quiet neighborhood, our secured-entry house is within biking and walking distance of the school, our local health food co-op, and the downtown area.

A Dormitory AND a Homestay Experience

The YIHS boarding house is a unique experience. As a boarding student, you will be living with a roommate in our single-gender rooms, but you will also be living with a family — three full-time adults live in the home. With regular family meals, communal homework and play areas, and caring and supportive host parents, you’ll feel right at home.
