Our young school has reached a milestone this year, our Tenth Anniversary! Our successes and failures, evolutionary adaptations, and, indeed, all our accumulated experiences have brought us to this point, and we’re patting ourselves on the back!
As our school grows and develops, its relationships with the members of our greater community become stronger and more supportive. Our outreach work within our community is its own reward as more and more people become familiar with what we do.
We launched a Matching Gift Program last year and it was a huge success! The goal of this program was to garner financial support through matches based on the money students earn each year. Last year, students’ efforts brought in nearly $13,000 and our Matching Gifts amounted to over $24,000. So, in effect, our 55 students helped us earn over $37,000, or 17% of our budget! Our Matching Gift partners in the community were impressed with what Youth Initiative students accomplish, and were happy to support the school in this way. Some will continue to participate in this program this year.
For the 2006-07 school year, the student fundraising goal is $10,000. And our Matching Gift goal is a 2:1 match of their earnings. If you or your business is interested in learning more about this program, please contact the
