Lounge
The lounge is truly astounding. As a senior project a student single-handedly sanded and varnished this floor making it as smooth and shiny as an expensive billiard ball! This room is where the entire school gathers in the morning to meet and unite before beginning the new day. Students lounge here during lunch while discussing academic reading such as Kant's categorical imperative concept or debating whether or not ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny. This is also where students hold their weekly student meeting. At Youth Initiative we do not feel that we should be bound by the constraints of tradition set forth by uptight institutions. This can be observed by the presence of the poofey couches.
